Westin Hotels & Resorts guests won't have an excuse to fall short of their New Year's fitness resolutions in 2018.
The Marriott International brand geared toward wellness has announced a global partnership with suspension training specialist TRX that will bring the company's versatile equipment to more than 200 WestinWORKOUT fitness studios around the world beginning next month.
In addition to the signature TRX Suspension Trainer, equipment will include foam rollers, strength bands, medicine balls, yoga mats, stability balls, jump ropes and kettlebells.
Guests will be able to access curated exercise content through the TRX app, including a custom pre-run workout. Other workouts will be specifically designed for travelers and target common issues such as jet lag, stress and sitting for extended periods of time.
The app will assist users by providing in-ear audio coaching and real-time training tips based on biometric data.
"While we consistently find that travelers struggle to maintain their wellness routine while on the road, we also know that functional fitness is a trend on the rise. We are delighted to partner with TRX and believe that making their simple, yet versatile equipment available for our guests and offering effective workouts designed specifically for travelers is a powerful proposition," said Brian Povinelli, SVP and Global Brand Leader, Westin Hotels & Resorts, in a statement.
In his own statement, TRX founder and CEO, Randy Hetrick said: "our loyal community of followers voiced their desire to train all the time-even when their daily routine is in flux."
The TRX partnership is the latest example of Westin's commitment to wellness. Earlier this year, the hotel brand announced a collaboration with Peleton to bring the world-class stationary bikes to select WestinWORKOUT fitness studios and guestrooms across the country.
Westin has also expanded its wellness concierge program and rolled out a menu designed to promote restful sleep within the past two years.
The brand's gear lending program is another unique benefit to guests, providing them with workout shoes and clothing for the duration of their stay.
