Estes Park sits on the doorstep of Rocky Mountain National Park and it is the epicenter of the area's buzzing camping and RVing scene. Bonanza Camping Resort is a great base for summertime shenanigans as it is located within splashing distance of both Noah's Ark and Mt. Olympus waterparks.

The live music show capital of the Midwest is surrounded by the gorgeous Ozark mountains and is also a dream destination for families. In between exploring the rolling peaks, park up at Branson Shenanigans RV Park-a short hop from a family fun park-or Tall Pines Campground-on the doorstep of theme park Silver Dollar City.

The Black Hills are known for rolling hills filled with pines and fascinating historical sights. Then, head to the nearby Badlands.

After a stay in this Colorado state park, you'll know precisely why the nearby town of Ouray has picked up the nickname "The Switzerland of America". Dakota Terraces campground is Ridgway's signature camping site and it features electrical hookups and a front row seat to the jutting peaks of this section of the Rocky Mountains.

Sure, Indiana's famous dunes might not be as big as those mountains of sand in Michigan, but they're arguably just as pretty. The Indiana Dunes State Park Campground is less than a mile from the beach and provides full electrical hookups at each and every campsite.

Surrounded by awe-inspiring Acadia, Bar Harbor is a charming tourist village chock-full of welcoming RV parks. For this precise reason, many RVers decide to park up here, allowing them the chance to partake in a mouthwatering array of Maine seafood specialties.

The dark name may pique your interest, but it's the surprising amount of life in this national park that will have you coming back. Explore life below sea level on the desert floor or climb rocky peaks here to fully appreciate a landscape like nothing else in America. Inside the park, the Furnace Creek Campground has limited space for RVs, but additional spots can be found at Fiddler's.

South Padre Island is paradise for RVers as this thin strip of Texas dangling into the Gulf of Mexico has scores of campground options. One of the stars of the RV-friendly roster is the South Padre Island KOA; this campground caters to all sizes of recreational vehicles and boasts an impressive agenda of activities and social gatherings.

After having your breath taken away by the views of Virginia and North Carolina on the Blue Ridge, set up at one of several top-notch grounds near awesome Asheville to take your camping experience to the next level. Bear Creek Campground offers a full range of RV sites and scenic views of the surrounding mountains.

Arguably Wisconsin's most beloved state park, Devil's Lake is heaven for campers-especially those who like to rock climb. During the summer months, base yourself at the Ice Age Campground experience the best of the park and when the snow falls, move up to the year-round Quartzite campground.

The rest of the country may not be on a first name basis with Hocking Hills State Park just yet, but RVers in Ohio know all about its bounty of Buckeye State beauty. Set up shop at the campgrounds inside the park to be surrounded by waterfalls and woodlands crisscrossed with hiking trails.

In addition to the eponymous waterfalls, this Minnesota park offers the opportunity to explore stretches of craggy Lake Superior coastline. The official campground inside the park is RV-friendly and is located close to the falls themselves.

You'll have to drive a while in order to make it to Big Bend, but once you arrive, you may never want to leave. The phrase "wide open spaces" doesn't do this national park justice, and in between exploring its vastness, make sure to make the Rio Grande Village Campground home. It features full hookups, views of the Sierra del Carmen mountains and is the perfect place to stargaze.

Whether you drive all the way to Alaska or rent an RV when you arrive, you're going to want to make a beeline for Denali. At the Riley Creek Campground, you will find a fun year-round facility, albeit one without electrical hookups. To get that, head to Denali RV Park and Motel on the outskirts of the park.
