Simpson's in the Strand, Hotel The Savoy
31/36Simpson's in the Strand first opened its doors as a chess club and coffee house in 1828, and, since its 2017 restoration, has become one of the city's landmark historic restaurants. Its Bill of Fare now features staples of classic British cuisine, showcasing the finest seasonal ingredients sourced from the British Isles. Selections include steamed steak-and-kidney suet pudding, hearty Lord Woolton pie, and hand-dived Scottish scallops. Or, guests can choose from the Roast rib of Scottish Beef or Daphne's Welsh Lamb, brought to the table and carved up by a Master Carver, and served with cabbage, roasted potatoes, gravy, horseradish sauce and Yorkshire pudding.
