With the prospect of 2024 being one of the best—if not the best—years for travel ever, advisors say cruises, destinations such as Italy, Greece, and the UK, and all-inclusive resort vacations are selling briskly.
“Everything cruise and Europe is hot right now,” said Crafty Getaways Chief Executive Officer Sam Yaffe. "Italy and Greece are our biggest sellers, and customers are loving it when we combine the destination on a luxury ship pre- and post-night stays and some incredible tours.”
For TravelSalesGroup President and CEO Heather Di Pietro, river cruises are proving to be particularly popular. “River cruising is huge right now because of the ability to unpack once and see multiple countries right from your cabin window,” she said.
“All inclusives have been popular forever and continue to be. With resort chains like the Inclusive Collection by Hyatt and Iberostar expanding their all-inclusive offerings into Europe, I think we will see a rise there as well.”
Krouse Travel CEO/Director of Sales Vickie Everhart noted that multigenerational travel is surging in popularity. “River cruising and small-group travel remain strong post-pandemic,” she said, adding that the agency is also fielding a generous number of requests for such destinations as Italy and the UK.
Meanwhile, increasing numbers of clients are looking for customized vacations. “Anything that can be customized is on the request list right now,” Di Pietro said. “For us, the definition of luxury for most of our travelers is personalization – making it all about them and their specific wants and need. And if you do it right you will have loyal clients for a long, long time.”
