Travelers will see a new drink option on?American Airlines?flights this summer. The Dallas-based carrier is adding tequila to its in-flight drink menus, starting June 1.
Beginning next month, the airline will serve Dallas-Fort Worth tequila brand Socorro Tequila. The new option will be available on all American flights by the end of June.
An onboard tequila option was something customers had been requesting, according to the airline, and adding the new alcoholic beverage is part of Americans ongoing efforts to reinvigorate the customer experience across all touchpoints of the travel journey, the carrier said in a release.
But its not just tequila that the airline is adding to its onboard menus. American is also adding new buy on board snack and meal options for Main Cabin customers, including a steak and pimento cheese sandwich, Brooklyn Biltong Steakhouse beef jerky, and a tray table tapas package with olives, dried apricots, beef jerky, pistachios, white cheddar dip, pita chips, and brownie brittle.
Starting June 11, passengers in premium cabins will also get a new mid-day snack basket option, featuring Tates Chocolate Chip Cookies, Garrett White Cheddar Popcorn, Coopers Cheese Straws, Cooper Street Granola Bakes, BobbySues Nuts Everything Goes Nuts, and Think Jerky Grass-Fed Beef Stick.
Travelers will be able to purchase all the new snack offerings on Americans mainline routes starting at 1,100 miles; alcoholic beverages are offered on Americans flights that are more than 250 miles. As a bonus, American AAdvantage members can redeem their miles to make all in-flight food and beverage purchases.
