Delta Air Lines announced that its fleetwide Wi-Fi rollout hit
another milestone, as flights to Europe, Israel and West Africa will have
access to free Delta Sync Wi-Fi presented by T-Mobile, starting in early April.
The continued addition of free Wi-Fi to Deltas
international fleet comes after the airline has already completed a rollout to
the entire domestic mainline fleet. The carrier also revealed flights to South
America would start featuring the wireless internet service later this spring.
In addition, Delta revealed that it was outfitting the first
of its fleet of more than 400 regional jets, starting this spring. The airline
also announced it would equip its entire Boeing 717 fleet with a
first-of-its-kind solution that sets a new standard for connectivity in
commercial aviation.
Thanks to the dedication and expertise of Delta teams,
were making enormous strides in our efforts to bring fast, free Wi-Fi to every
aircraft in our fleetwhich in turn will transform our aircraft into
personalized platforms where customers can connect and engage in meaningful new
ways, Customer Experience Design Senior Vice President Ranjan Goswami said.
With the addition of our pioneering dual-network
connectivity solution to 717s and forthcoming A350-1000 and A321neo new
deliveries, were unlocking new possibilities for what it means to stay
connected in the air, Goswami continued.
Delta officials said they expect dual-network connectivity
retrofits to begin in the fourth quarter, with the entire 717 fleet expected to
be complete by early 2026. ?
Starting in late 2026, select new delivery A350-1000 and
A321neo aircraft will also be outfitted with dual-network connectivity solutions,
further enhancing our next-generation Delta Sync seatback experience.?
