Low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines is expanding its in-flight menu of snacks and drinks for purchase.
The budget carrier has added 12 new snack items and drink options to its onboard menu. Among the new snacks are both savory and sweet additions like Quaker? Instant Oatmeal Maple & Brown Sugar, Twisted Noodles? Veggie Ramen, and Grandma's? Mini Sandwich Cremes Vanilla.
New beverage selections include non-alcoholic options like Stash? English Breakfast tea and Coca-Cola? Zero Sugar, as well as new alcoholic drinks, including Samuel Adams? American Light, Voodoo Ranger? IPA, and pre-mixed cocktail Buzzbox? Cuban Mojito.
"We know our Guests have great taste when they choose to fly Spirit, and now we're giving them delicious new choices to add more flavor and value to their adventure," said Dana Shapir Alviene, senior vice president of inflight and airport experience at Spirit Airlines.
Spirit charges most customers for in-flight snacks and drinks, however, two of the carriers newest fare classes get access to complimentary food and beverages. Passengers who purchase the airlines new Go Big fare get complimentary premium snacks and alcoholic beverages, while fliers who buy into the new Go Comfy class have snack mix and a non-alcoholic drink included in their fare.?
Members of the airlines Free Spirit loyalty program with Gold status also get one free onboard snack and one drink, including alcohol. All other fare classes can purchase the onboard refreshments with most major credit cards or Apple Pay.
The new snacks and drinksas well as the new fare classesare part of a litany of enhancements the carrier is making to its onboard experience, which also includes new extra-legroom seats launching July 9 and additional loyalty program perks.
