United Airliness MileagePlus program is the first airline loyalty program to allow up to five members to contribute and combine their miles into a joint account, available now.?
The airline, which recently raised baggage fees for non-loyalty members, now allows any five MileagePlus members can pool their miles, making it easy to share and redeem miles for families and friends. As theres no minimum age to become a MileagePlus member, parents can create accounts for their children, link them to their own, and start earning more miles for family travel.?
Any MileagePlus member over 18 years old can become the pool leader and create a pool for free. They can invite up to four friends, family or travel companions of any age to join their pool. Every member will receive instructions on how to contribute miles to the group and how to redeem pooled miles for travel. There are no limits to how many miles may be contributed to an active miles pool.?
The pools will not affect an individual members Premier status. Only members who travel on a ticket using pooled miles will earn any eligible Premier qualifying points.?
