At least two major U.S. airlines appear poised to resume flights to Israel as early as next month.
According to The Times of Israel, the Israel Airports Authority (IAA) has announced that United Airlines and Delta Air Lines will resume service to Israel for the first time since widespread cancellations were announced in the wake of Hamas attacks in October 2023.
United confirmed the news and plans to restart flights on March 3 while IAA said Delta will resume flights on May 1. However, Delta has yet to confirm.
Earlier this month, fellow Big Four carrier American Airlines removed Tel Aviv from its flight schedule until at least October 2024.
Nonetheless, the new flights are a welcome sight for the travel and tourism sector as recent data shows that the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas has not only negatively impacted tourism in the Middle East but the global travel industry.
