United Airlines has suspended its flights to Tel Aviv, Israel for the foreseeable future, citing safety and security concerns.The carrier halted its daily service from Newark to Tel Aviv on July 31. On Thursday, United said it had removed the flights from its schedule until the region is safe for customers and crew.Impacted customers are eligible for refunds or can rebook to other cities in Europe and the Middle East.Meanwhile, Delta Air Lines has also suspended flights between New York and Tel Aviv through the end of August.U.S. airlines have been stopping and starting service to Israel in the wake of Hamas' surprise attack on the country in October 2023.
The U.S. State Department currently advises Americans to reconsider travel to Israel due to terrorism and civil unrest.
