Carlson Wagonlit Travel's (CWT) recent Connected Traveler Study found that business travelers are increasingly looking to tech to streamline their time on the road.
Eighty-eight percent said that, because of advances in technology, business travel is easier to manage.
Now, the travel management company is using tech to streamline the experience for its own clients with the announcement that it has entered into a preferred partnership with rideshare app Lyft.
The agreement means that CWT business travelers will have access to on-demand ground transportation.
"Giving our clients the best end-to-end traveler experience is our unwavering commitment," said Jim Hartnett, vice president of global supplier management for Carlson Wagonlit Travel. "We are excited about our new Lyft partnership and are focused on delivering best-in-class services for our travelers to reach their destinations in a safe and convenient way."
Lyft will now be completely streamlined for CWT travelers.
"We're thrilled to partner with Carlson Wagonlit Travel, making it easier and faster for their clients to launch and manage seamless travel solutions with Lyft," said Amit Patel, director of business development for Lyft Business. "At Lyft, we're committed to improving people's lives with the world's best transportation, and working with Carlson Wagonlit Travel to move business travelers in a safe, easy, and affordable way is a natural next step for our work in this space."
It's not the only new partnership for Lyft recently: It recently joined a partnership that allows customers to use Amtrak's mobile app to request a ride via the Lyft app.
"We're looking forward to working with Amtrak. As a fixture of American travel, Amtrak makes it simple and convenient for passengers, something Lyft feels passionately about as well," Lyft chief business officer David Baga said in a statement.
In another increasing connection to the travel industry, Lyft riders can also earn Delta SkyMiles on rides when they link their account.
