Carnival Cruise Lines Carnival Splendor has emerged from dry dock with a fresh new look.
After getting a makeover in Singapore, the 3,012-guest ship now features the red, white and blue hull design that Carnival introduced in 2021. The vessel also has a Southern Cross design on both sides of its exterior, a nod to soon-to-be-shuttered sister brand P&O Cruises Australia.
The Southern Cross constellation has played an important role in maritime history. Sailors used these five stars to navigate the worlds oceans and make their way to Australia.
Crews also made some other updates to Carnival Splendor, which the brand plans to reveal when the vessel returns to Sydney on September 9.
In June, Carnival announced that it would be sunsetting P&O Cruises Australia. Two of the lines ships, Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter, will be renamed Carnival Adventure and Carnival Explorer and will begin sailing with the Carnival Cruise Lines fleet in March.
Those two vessels will also feature the Southern Cross design. Theyll also be getting technology upgrades and other systems investments.
Carnival has invited thousands of of P&O Cruises Australia crew members to join the Carnival Cruise Lines fleet when the vessels join the fleet next year.
