Celebrity Cruises newest ship, Celebrity Ascent, which is scheduled to debut in November 2023, successfully completed its sea trials.
“The ship’s brother captains, Demetrios and Tasos Kafetzis, were at the helm to oversee the intricate tests conducted in the Bay of Biscay near the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in St. Nazaire, France, where Celebrity Ascent has been under construction,” Celebrity said.
“In addition, nearly 200 crew members were onboard to test the ship’s equipment from bow to stern.”
Celebrity Ascent is set to sail on a four-night Western Caribbean preview cruise on Nov. 22 out of Fort Lauderdale. It will also offer a second Bahamas’ preview sailing on Nov. 26.
The ship’s inaugural seven-night Caribbean itinerary is set for Dec. 3, and will launch a series of Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises out of Fort Lauderdale.
Celebrity Ascent will ?reposition to Europe in summer 2024.
