The Disney Parks Blog announced new information about the upcoming expansion of Disney Cruise Line's Lighthouse Point private island experience, called Disney Lookout Cay.?
The tropical retreat is located on Eleuthera in The Bahamas and will debut for guests this June. It's heavily influenced by Junkanoo, a longstanding Bahamian festival that features incredible music, bright colors and lively parades.?
Disney Lookout Cay will expand the Lighthouse Point private island experience for Disney Cruise Line. The expansion will debut colorful beachside Mabrika Cove Cabanas for guests to enjoy a shaded beach experience and the new True-True Too BBQ lunch area, with shades that resemble giant seashells and nature-themed art.?
The area will also feature a tram stop, with local vendors for travelers to find some local Bahamian treasures.?
When you visit Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, youll be immersed in elements of Bahamian culture. This special new island destination is inspired by Junkanoo, a longstanding Bahamian tradition celebrating the unique culture of this beautiful country, said Joey Gaskins, part of the DCL team in The Bahamas.
