Travelers hoping to experience Alaska by sea and land with Holland America Line this summer can look forward to new enhancements to the companys cruisetours.
Holland America Lines cruisetours combine a cruise along the coast of No. 49, plus an overland tour to Denali National Park. Ahead of the upcoming summer season, crews are renovating the cruise lines 68-acre hotel property near the entrance to the national park, called McKinley Chalet Resort.?
Theyre adding balconies to 28 rooms with views of the Nenana River, which will upgrade them to the Denali Suite category. On top of that, Holland America Line is introducing a new Deluxe category of 45 non-balcony rooms with suite amenities, such as s'mores kits, Pendleton blankets, premium bathrobes and Keurig coffee machines.
"Increasing the balcony rooms at McKinley Chalet Resort offers even more visitors the opportunity to take in the incredible views, and adding the Deluxe category allows additional guests to have an elevated stay at the property, says Dan Rough, Holland America Line's vice president of revenue management.
New this season, guests will also be able to book a new, included tour in Dawson City, Yukon. The? "Klondike Gold Tour" will explore the region's famed gold rush by visiting the? original discovery claim site that launched the gold rush, as well as Dredge No. 4, the wooden-hulled sluice dredge that operated on the Yukon River in the early 20th century. A guide from Parks Canada will lead the tour, offering insights about the regions mining history.
"Holland America Line is the only cruise line that shows the beginning and end of the Klondike trail, from Skagway all the way to the Yukon," says Rough.
Bookings are still available for Alaska cruisetours, with itineraries ranging from nine to 18 days long. The trips start with a 3- or 4-day Inside Passage cruise aboard the ships Koningsdam or Zaandam, or a 7-day Glacier Discovery cruise on Nieuw Amsterdam or Noordam.?
