As longer cruises continue to grow in popularity, Holland America Line is launching a series of new Legendary Voyages in 2025 and 2026.
The highlight of the new offerings is the 45-day Ultimate Mediterranean & Atlantic Passage itinerary, a rare roundtrip cruise from New York to the Mediterranean. Travelers will depart Oct. 7, 2025, cross the Atlantic and visit 20 ports, including destinations in Portugal, Italy, Tunisia and Egypt.?
The journey, which will take place aboard the Volendam, is inspired by a 100-year-old Holland America Line itinerary. The modern cruise even visits many of the same ports as the 1925 version.
Holland America Line celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2023 and regularly draws inspiration from its historic routes.?
Based on the popularity of our 2024 Ultimate Mediterranean cruise, its clear that guests are eager for more in-depth exploration of the region, says Beth Bodensteiner, Holland America Lines chief commercial officer. Being able to offer this cruise roundtrip from New York City in 2025 creates a rare opportunity for people in North America to enjoy the Med and our award-winning service without a long flight.
Travelers who dont want to wait that long can join a similar 42-night Mediterranean sailing roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale this November.
Holland America Line is also unveiling three other Legendary Voyages trips: a 28-day Islands of the South Pacific cruise, a 27-day South Pacific Crossing trip and a 36-day South Pacific Crossing itinerary. The voyages depart in late 2025 and early 2026.
The South Pacific is home to some of the most popular ports for cruisers, says Paul Grigsby, Holland America Lines vice president for deployment and itinerary planning. We worked to create an itinerary like no other in this region, with multiple calls to islands that are less traveled and a must-see for anyone looking to experience all that the region has to offer at an unhurried pace.
