Princess Cruises has announced a new culinary shore excursion program in collaboration with the Bon Appétit food and lifestyle brand. Through these excursions, guests will come in contact with local ingredients and cooking styles, as well as demonstrations and tastings from local chefs and personalities.
"As a leader in culinary excellence at sea, we seek to offer our guests hands-on, immersive culinary journeys from the destinations we visit," said Bruce Krumrine, vice president-global shore excursions for Princess Cruises.
"From scone making in the countryside of Ireland, to crafting the perfect paella on the knotted streets of medieval Spain, these newly developed experiences are sure to bring the spirit of these destinations to life for our guests."
The new tours come in two categories, Exclusive Tours and Recommended Tours. The former are tailored excursions available only through Princess and Bon Appétit. The latter are gastronomic expeditions endorsed by Bon Appétit.
Guests can choose from 30 excursions beginning in 2018. Highlights of Bon Appétit Exclusive Tours include "Taste of the North" in Kristiansand, Norway and "Scones from Scratch" in Dublin, Ireland.
Bon Appétit Recommended Tours include "Classic Copenhagen" in Denmark;
"Pacific Northwest Pairings" in Astoria, Ore.; "From Mate to Malbec" in Buenos Aires, Argentina; "Juneau Foodie Walking Tour" in Alaska; "The Perfect Paella" in Valencia, Spain; and "Roots of Russia" in St. Petersburg.
