The long, agonizing wait is over. Royal Caribbean International's highly anticipated private island experience, Perfect Day at CocoCay celebrated its grand opening in the Bahamas this weekend.
The one-of-a-kind destination is now ready to greet Royal Caribbean guests this spring with world-class attractions, amenities and services, including the tallest water slide in North America and the highest vantage point in the Bahamas.
"To say that she is a beauty is a massive understatement and we believe that we have created a truly game changer for the cruise industry, in fact for the vacation industry." Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd Chairman and CEO Richard Fain said, per Royal Caribbean Blog.
Guests will have no shortage of choices when it comes to getting their heart racing as Thrill Waterpark features more than a dozen slides, including a 135-foot plunge in Daredevil's Peak and The Slingshot, where riders can share a raft with three of their friends. Visitors to Thrill Waterpark can also look forward to jumping into the biggest wave pool in the Caribbean.
Royal Caribbean will even bring its beloved Splashaway Bay aqua park to dry land. The cruise line's largest to date will offer five additional water slides and a pair of massive drench buckets in addition to plenty of fountains, pools and water cannons.
While the kids are splashing away at the aqua park, adults will be tempted to unwind at Oasis Lagoon, which Royal Caribbean is calling the Caribbean's largest freshwater pool.
Guests can relax in the comfort of their cabana or swim up to the bar for a refreshing cocktail.
For the best views in all of the Bahamas, visitors to CocoCay can hop aboard the Up, Up and Away helium balloon that rises an incredible 450 feet above the island.
After working up quite the appetite zip lining into the only water landing in the Bahamas, guests will be drawn to Captain Jack's for Caribbean favorites such as mango-habanero wings, drinks, live music and even more sensational island views. Complimentary Snack Shacks throughout the island also offer burgers, sandwiches and salads for hungry guests.
Scheduled to debut in December, Perfect Day at CocoCay's Coco Beach Club will offer guests the opportunity to experience the first overwater cabanas in the Bahamas. Other highlights will include a beachfront infinity pool and Mediterranean-inspired eats.
Plus, guests will have quite the entrance upon arriving at the dock.
A dozen Royal Carribean ships will sail to the all-new private island, including Adventure of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas, Empress of the Seas, Grandeur of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, Mariner of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas, Rhapsody of the Seas, Serenade of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas.
