Delta Air Lines is giving travelers a say on where it flies next. The carrier is letting its customers choose the newest destination in the Mediterranean where it will fly in 2026.
The contest, which the airline is calling the Route Race, is the first of its kind for Delta and allows Delta SkyMiles members to vote on one of three potential destinations through the airlines mobile app. ?
Travelers dreaming of an easy way to visit some of Europes most glamorous, jet-set beach locales will be impressed by the three potential destinations, all of which are islands: Ibiza, Malta, or Sardinia.
Each of the three sun-soaked isles offer a different vibe for travelers. The Spanish island of Ibiza is of course known for its nightlife, but it also has a laid-back side for travelers who want to relax on its pristine shoreline. Malta is filled with striking views and historical sites, including temples that are more than 5,000 years old. Sardinia, an Italian isle, offers still another flavor, with rugged hikes, serene beaches, and fresh seafood mixed with classic Italian cuisine.
From August 25 to 29 SkyMiles members will be able to open the Delta app, navigate to the Explore and Trip pages, confirm their login credentials, and vote for their favorite destination. The contest is also open to votes from Delta employees, too.?
SkyMiles Members and Delta people are at the center of everything Delta does. The Route Race is a celebration of their influence, giving our community a voice in where they want to fly next and inviting them to help shape Deltas global network, said Paul Baldoni, Deltas senior vice president of network planning. The destinations where Delta flies are more than just dots on a map C theyre gateways to culture, connection and possibility, and this is a chance for our Members and employees to bring one of them closer.
The final results of the contest will be announced about 30 days after voting closes.
