Following a five-year absence, Cura?ao*s North
Sea Jazz Festival will return to the southern Caribbean island on August 29. The three-night event,
set to take place at a three-stage complex at Piscadera Bay adjacent to the World
Trade Center Cura?ao, will feature headline artists including Gladys Knight,
Mark Anthony, Seal and Nile Rodgers of the famed disco group Chic.
While nominally a jazz festival, the event will
feature a variety of musical forms, and feature rhythm and blues, Latin and
rock performers. Additional artists will be announced over the course of the
coming months, according to event organizers, and event tickets will be available
beginning April 1.
Organizers describe the event as ※a fusion of
the celebration of music and the destination itself,§ and past performers include
Mariah Carey, Bruno Mars, Sting, Maroon 5 and Pitbull.
※We are thrilled for the homecoming of the
tenth edition of the Cura?ao North Sea Jazz Festival,§ said Hugo Clarinda,
Cura?ao*s deputy director of tourism.
Said Clarinda, ※It*s been five years since the
last celebration and we cannot be more excited to welcome new and returning
festival goers, music lovers and artists back to our beloved island for the
best music, entertainment and endless fun.
※Our island has continued to set the tone for
legendary festivals and in 2024 we plan to make this experience a memorable one
for all,§ he added.
Several Cura?ao hotels are available to attendees,
including the Cura?ao Marriott Beach Resort, Dreams Cura?ao Resort, Spa and
Casino and the Mangrove Beach Corendon Cura?ao Curio by Hilton, according to festival
organizers.
