Cura?ao is celebrating
a strong start to the tourism year, with a 14 percent year-over-year increase in
visitor arrivals compared with 2024, according to Cura?ao Tourist Board (CTB)
officials.
The Dutch
Caribbean destinations growing visitor arrivals [reflect] sustained demand
during the peak season, with another month reporting over seventy thousand [overnight,
land-based] visitors, said CTB officials in a statement.
Cura?ao hosted more visitors from North America than from
Europe during March for the first time in the countrys history, with 28,015
and 26,584 arrivals respectively. Visitors stayed an average of 7.9 nights in Cura?ao
during March, said officials.
American
travelers drove Cura?aos March increase, with the 22,002 US visitors representing
a 17 percent year-over-year increase compared with 2024. The figure also represents
the first time in Cura?aos history the destination hosted as many as 20,000 US
visitors.
Most Americans (67
percent) visiting Cura?ao in March stayed resort hotels, while 33 percent selected
other accommodation types, CTB officials said. US stayed and average of 5.8
nights, with the largest number residing from New York (14 percent), Florida (eight
percent), and North Carolina (five percent).
Cura?aos visitor
arrivals from Canada surged 17 percent year-over-year in March 2025, totaling
6,013 arrivals compared with 5,142 in March 2024. Canadian visitors stayed an
average of 7.9 nights, with 59 percent opting to stay at resort hotels. Most
Canadians who visited Cura?ao in March live in Ontario (53 percent) and Quebec
(28 percent).
From January to
March of this year, Cura?ao has welcomed 535,626 visitors, including 215,366 overnight
arrivals, 12,011 day-trip visitors and 308,249 cruise passengers.
