National Park Week occurs every year and it's beloved by travelers because it opens every National Park Service site to visitors for free.
This year's National Park Week will begin on April 20 and end on April 28. All national parks, as well as preserves, monuments and more, will be included under the freebie promotion.
Only the first day of National Park Week is free, meaning you'll have to visit your favorite national park on April 20 to experience the special deal.
However, every day of National Park Week will include a theme that focuses on everything from military veterans to encouraging kids to participate in Junior Ranger activities.
You can view the themed days below:
- April 20: National Junior Ranger Day
- April 21: Military & Veterans Recognition Day
- April 22: Earth Day
- April 23: Transportation Tuesday
- April 24: Wild Wednesday
- April 25: Throwback Thursday
- April 26: Friendship Friday
- April 27: BARK Ranger Day
- April 28: Park Rx Day
If you're unable to make it to a national park on April 20, you'll have other opportunities for free days on August 25, for the National Park Service birthday, September 28 on National Public Lands Day and November 11 for Veterans Day.
