Geographic Expeditions (GeoEx), a leader in curated luxury
travel experiences, has unveiled its “Egypt’s Eclipse: Ancient Sands &
Cosmic Stories” itinerary. The 10-day adventure explores Egypt’s antiquities
and wonders, timed to the solar eclipse on Aug. 2, 2027.
The trip starts in Cairo to explore the city’s rich history and
continues by air to Aswan for a two-masted wooden dahabeya private sailboat
trip on the Nile toward Luxor. In Luxor, guests will be able to witness the
total solar eclipse from a private rooftop on one of the tallest buildings in
the village.
The view from the building also shows the grandeur of Luxor’s
ancient landscape, the sweeping Valley of the Kings where many royal pharaohs
are buried, and the dramatic cliffs that cradle the Temple of Hatshepsut. The
itinerary’s final stop is a visit to the Temple of Hathor and a final
celebration in Dendera before returning to Cairo for flights homeward.?
Additional luxury
accommodations include the five-star?InterContinental
Citystars Cairo?in Heliopolis and?Hotel
Al Moudira,?a tranquil boutique hotel reminiscent of an oriental
palace, on the West Bank of the Nile in Luxor.
The journey is guided by Egyptologists and Trip Astronomer
Ed Krupp, the director of Los Angeles’ Griffith Observatory. The trip is priced
at $22,250 per person and is now available to book
with trip dates from July 27 to August 4, 2027.
