Therme Dubai—Islands in the Sky is a new architectural urban
landmark featuring floating botanical gardens, stacked terraces, and cascading
pools. Guests can use the area for cultural events and as a social space. Construction
is set to begin in 2026 and anticipate completion in 2028.
The project is part of the Quality of Life Strategy 2033 and
has been approved by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Crown
Prince of Dubai. The structure is designed by architects Diller Scofidio +
Renfro. This landmark will span 500,000 square feet with a 100-meter-tall
structure and can welcome 1.7 million visitors annually.?
Therme Group is a global developer, owner and operator of
creative and immersive urban spaces that foster health, social connection, and
cultural engagement. Islands in the Sky will also feature sustainable
innovations and technologies to minimize environmental impact. 90% of the water
used in the pools will be recycled and 80% of the fresh air will be met through
clean energy sources.
Rober Hanea, founder and CEO of Therme Group, chose Dubai
for his partnership in this project based on Dubai’s bold vision for urban
planning and Therme Group’s innovative urban wellbeing commitment.
“We are shaping how cities can integrate nature, water, and
culture to elevate quality of life at scale. Therme Dubai – Islands in the Sky
will stand as a global model for what’s possible when ambition and expertise
align,” said Hanea.
