Traveling in the smartphone era can often feel like a chore, almost like checking boxes to keep up with your friends or favorite influencers.
But the truth is the world isn't so small after all and there are still plenty of spectacular places where you can get lost and maybe, just maybe, (we hope) find yourself.
The Caribbean is a vast region, and these often overlooked destinations provide a welcome respite in 2025.
Dominica for the Nature Lovers

Not to be confused with the more-visited Dominican Republic, Dominica is an unmistakable Caribbean locale. Dubbed the Nature Island for its remarkable landscapes and biodiversity, this island nation is not only home to sparkling seas, mountainous terrain and rainforests but also jaw-dropping waterfalls, rejuvenating hot springs and some of the region's best eco-tourism adventures.

Stray From the Beaten Path in Saba
Located in the Dutch Caribbean, between the Virgin Islands and the more well-known Leeward Islands destinations, Saba is a tiny yet pristine island (in fact, you may not know it existed) boasting not one but four unique villages, in addition to scenic hiking opportunities, sensational diving sites, and easy access to bars, restaurants, shops, and museums.

Try Something New in Nevis
Saint Kitts and Nevis recently made headlines after adopting a new visitor entry system, but this Caribbean gem remains underrated given its resume.
Nevis is the smaller of the two islands and is located to the southeast of Saint Kitts but will wow ambitious visitors with spectacular beaches, glorious snorkeling and diving sites featuring marine life such as sea turtles and stingrays, as well as Charlestown, a capital oozing with colonial charm.
Be Yourself in Bonaire?

Perhaps the most underrated of the ABC Islands (Aruba and Curacao being the others), Bonaire is strategically positioned outside of the Atlantic hurricane belt and can provide travelers to the Caribbean a break from the crowds in addition to peace of mind amid hurricane season.
Whether you covet a laidback getaway spent mostly lounging on the beach and sampling local spirits or a more adventurous experience touring national parks, wildlife sanctuaries and windsurfing, this versatile island is ready to blow you away.
