Now is the best time for residents of the United States to visit Canada.?
Why now? It all has to do with money.
Simply put, its a perfect storm for tourists. While President Trump and Prime Minister Trudeau battle out the tariff issue, right now exchange rates are up and airfares are down.?
The exchange rate is at a 22-year high, with every dollar you give Canadian officials, you get your American dollar back plus 43 cents.
And according to Kayak, airfares between some cities are down. For example:
- Californians can save $100+ by flying to Calgary instead of Vancouver
- North Carolinians can save $150+ by choosing Vancouver over Toronto
- Utah flyers can pocket $150+ by heading to Montreal instead of Calgary
Airfares are down about 18 percent compared to 2023 and hotel rooms are down seven percent, but the scene might not be true in reverse.
The US Travel Association warned that the Trump Administrations tariffs on Canada could impact Canadian visitation to and spending within the United States.
But the trip across the border to Canada appears to be a different story. For now, anyway.
