Traveling while vegan is rarely a straightforward affair.
It can be difficult enough when you're at home to find food that is not only meat free and dairy free, but also appetizing and nutritious.
Trying to do so on the road, when you're in an unfamiliar city or destination, adds another layer of complexity to the task. (Trust me.)
The good news for vegans and even vegetarians is that Walt Disney World has just announced the creation of a guide to eating vegan and vegetarian at the popular park.
The new guide to the best vegan and vegetarian options in the Magic Kingdom is designed to make it easier for people with plant-based diets to navigate the park at mealtime.
Available on Disney's blog here, the guide helps visitors to easily distinguish which food items at the park are made with animal meat or any animal products.
The pamphlet, states the blog, is broken down by land and restaurant and lists every item that doesn't have meat in it using a little leaf logo to categorize which items include no animal products at all.
If you fail to download one of these helpful guides in advance of a visit, not to worry. They're also available at the park. Guests can pick one up at any Table-Service or Quick Service location, any Guest Experience Team kiosk, or either of the two Guest Relations locations - City Hall or the Liberty Square Ticket Office.
It's important to note that this is not the first time such a guide has been offered. Peta2, (PETA's youth division) issued a similar guide last year, which is available on the organization's website here.
Created with the help of Disney star Aubrey Miller (of Just Add Magic and Austin & Ally) who's been a vegan since birth, the guide highlights more than 100 vegan foods to eat at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
Disney is not the only park that offers vegan options, PETA told TravelPulse last year. Knotts Berry Farm also offers quite a few options, including dishes made with vegan chicken.
