The 2017-18 National Basketball Association season is officially underway, but travelers will soon have the chance to experience the league at Walt Disney World Resort with the new NBA Experience at Disney Springs in Orlando.
The attraction is being built to resemble a modern NBA arena that will help transport guests into a fully immersive professional basketball experience. The state-of-the-art facility will include interactive games, competitions, experiences, a retail store and an adjacent restaurant.
For Disney fans, the NBA Experience will be located on the west side of Disney Springs and is scheduled to be completed by summer 2019. The new attraction will be built on the site of the old DisneyQuest building, which was torn down last week after closing in July, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
"We are inspired by the design of the new building and the energy that it will bring to the West Side of Disney Springs," Disney Springs senior vice president Maribeth Bisienere said in a statement.
"This one-of-a-kind experience is sure to be enjoyed by basketball and Disney fans of all ages who visit Disney Springs from around the world," NBA President Sal LaRocca said in a statement.

Disney also continues to support its hometown NBA team, the Orlando Magic. In addition to signing a jersey sponsorship agreement with the team, theme park guests who renew or purchase qualified Walt Disney World annual passes at the Amway Center this year will receive a new Orlando Magic jersey complete with the Disney logo.
