The Walt Disney
Company is hoping that money talks. Or a lack of it,
anyway.
The company is reducing
some of its prices, including theme park tickets, resort hotels and food, in an
effort to lure back some
of its customers who felt the prices were getting too expensive.
It is generally acknowledged that Disneys prices have become exceedingly high, while the company is losing money on its share price.?
In fact, a little
more than two months ago, with little fanfare, Disney began offering discounts
on admission to Hollywood Studios, EPCOT and Animal Kingdom at the Walt Disney
World Resort in Orlando. Entrance to the Magic Kingdom requires separate admission, however.
Disneyland in California offers discounts if you book a room on-site at one of the properties, but it might take more than that to win back some customers.
I think Disney
has lost our family for good, Lindsey Robertson, a mother of two from Dallas,
told Bloomberg News. Weve had back-to-back negative experiences with staff,
the stand-by lines are out of control, and the cost has become insurmountable.
Disney is also
revamping its waiting time system for some rise and attractions, which has been
a bugaboo for some patrons.
Disney might be losing its share price, but it is still investing in its myriad products.
