Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! opened in May to much fanfare.
Now, the popular attraction will be getting a makeover.
Just in time for Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort, the popular new ride will be transforming nightly into Guardians of the Galaxy - Monsters After Dark.
The fun begins on September 15 and will continue through October 31.
In the original version, Rocket finds his friends trapped in the Fortress of The Collector, Taneleer Tivan. With guests' help, there is a daring escape plan. The Halloween makeover takes the story to another level.
In the new Monsters After Dark version, Rocket now needs to distract all the monsters he has unleashed inside the Fortress.
"The Monsters After Dark story hinges on irreverence, on top of the irreverence that's already in the attraction," said Joe Rohde, creative executive for Walt Disney Imagineering. "It's creepy, chaotic and very funny."
In addition to a new experience within the ride, the evening makeover includes all-new lighting on the exterior of the Fortress, alerting guests that something inside has gone awry. In the lobby, there are creepy sounds and flashing alarms hinting to visitors that creatures have escaped their vitrine cages and chaos is ensuing.

The experience is enhanced with a musical complement: all-new 1970s-style punk rock song, "Monsters After Dark" keeps with the dark humor the ride exudes.
Due to the popularity of the ride, guests should plan ahead to get a good spot in line. As TravelPulse previously reported, wait times on the first day of Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! were in excess of 300 minutes. Guests headed to the park can check ride times and availability at Disneyland.com.
