Josh Duhamel, the 42-year-old actor who you might know from that one movie you can't quite remember right now but he totally looks familiar, is using his celebrity to tout all the wonder that is Fargo, North Dakota.
Didn't the movie "Fargo" already accomplish that?
Inforum's Dave Olson reports the actor who starred in movies such as "Transformers," "Safe Haven" and "Battle Creek" is now featuring in tourism ads for Fargo, which is presumably close to his heart, being that he is from Minot.
According to the report, we will have to wait a bit to see the finished product as Olson writes: "Print, TV and multimedia spots based on Sunday's shoot and other production efforts will begin running early in 2016."
Thankfully, there are glimpses of the shoot on YouTube:
While we have just a modicum of the story here, it looks like this is going to be one heck of a commercial, featuring a trapper hat-rocking, gleefully dancing Duhamel.
And according to the report, the actor is putting in work for Fargo, because the ad campaign will take about a week to shoot.
This is Duhamel's second foray into being a home-state champion. Olson offers, "He provided voice-over work for TV spots that began running in 2014 and continue to air this year."
The best part of the report remains, "Though Sunday's shoot required blocking off about a block of Broadway, the traffic downtown, both foot and vehicle, was light, making for a relatively trouble-free evening of filming."
If your idea of a relaxing vacation is a slice of Americana served on a quaint platter of old-fashioned sensibilities, Fargo is your place.
Not even a Hollywood production could throw Fargo off its game as a pleasing paradise that moves at its own pace.
