On the official day of its 70th?anniversary July
17, 2025, Disneyland
Resort is set to debut new Disneyland Park experiences to honor the parks
history and optimism for the future.
The new experiences Disneyland guests can enjoy at The
Happiest Place on Earth include:
Main Street Cinema Tribute to the Sherman Brothers- a
heartwarming three-and-a-half- minute film named The Last Verse, celebrating
the timeless connection and hope behind the Sherman brothers iconic song Its
a Small World."?
Created for the songs 60th anniversary, the film
unveils a new verse written by legendary composer Richard M. Sherman in his
final Disney contribution. The new verse says Mother earth unites us in heart
and mind, and the love we give makes us humankind. Through our vast wondrous
land when we stand hand in hand, its a small world after all. The song will
also premier at the Small World attraction beginning July 17, 2025.?
Main Street Opera House Experiences feature an
all-new gallery experience highlighting the evolution of Walt Disneys dream
of Disneyland. Images, art and artifacts on display C some never before
seen C show Disneyland before, during, and after Walts dream became a reality.
Walt Disney Imagineering and the Walt Disney Archives have
curated relics and memorabilia from the very early stages of Disneyland, as
well as through the evolution of what Walts original park has become today.
Another exhibit features the story and history of audio-animatronics
technology, from Walts day leading to the advancement of where we are today. Visitors
will learn about his inspiration and see firsthand the inner workings of this
technology, and how far audio-animatronics figures have advanced through the
years.
Collaborating with The Walt Disney Family Museum, more than
30 artifacts will be on display in the lobby experiences. Treasures on loan in
the gallery include original items from Walts private apartment above the Fire
Station on Main Street such as an original rocking chair, lamp and table, all
of which have never been publicly exhibited at the Disneyland Park before.
The Walt Disney Museum has also loaned some of Walts
humanitarian accolades that include Walts 1955 Emmy award for the Walt
Disneys Disneyland TV show, the Presidential Medal of Freedom awarded by
President Johnson in 1964, and the Walt Disney Commemorative Medal presented to
Lillian Disney by President Nixon in 1969.
Walt Disney C A Magical Life attraction will also
open alongside Main Street Opera House exhibits. Guests stepping into the theater
will get to experience the incredible story of Walt Disneys life.?
Through remastered footage and audio recordings, youll be
taken on a cinematic journey leading from Walts early endeavors to the bright
lights of Los Angeles and beyond. And when the curtain rises, guests will be
transported to Walts office. Through the magic of audio-animatronics
storytelling he helped pioneer, Disney will share some heartfelt stories and
words of wisdom.?
After its initial run, Walt Disney C A Magical Life will
play in rotation with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.
As guests exit the theatre after the show, they will encounter
Walt Disneys quote and examples of how Disneyland will never be completed. It
will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world. This
includes preview projects and moments of how Disneyland will continue to move
forward, as well as showcase how it has done so for decades.??
