Yo ho, yo ho, a pirates life for me.
Adventureland in Magic Kingdom can soon raise a glass to
swashbuckling as The Beak and Barrel, Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern
will open later this year in the Walt Disney
World theme park, according to Disney Parks Blog.
The lively pirate pub established by legendary rumrunner pirate
Captain Meridan Merry Goldwyn and her first mate, Rummy, will welcome
swashbucklers, scoundrels, bandits and buccaneers of all ages to the tavern.
Rummy, Merrys trusted companion and first mate serves as
the taverns quartermaster, sharing tales of piracy and leading the pubs
visitors in a rousing toast. Though Rummy retired from his seafaring days, many
say he bears a strong resemblance to the original Barker Bird that once sat at
the entrance of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride attraction.
The Mess room represents the largest, central space, a
place where Spanish soldiers gathered to tell their tales. A large bar with
salvaged portions of a shipwreck anchors one side of the room while at the
center, a skull-shaped stern holds a myriad of grogs and brews. The Enchanted Rum
Bottle will reportedly serve as the source of the taverns specialty brews.
Above the tables, guests will find an impressive anchor covered in candles and
dripping wax.
Inside the Captains Quarters, once the living area of the
Spanish Comandante, guests can enjoy the finer life, though theyll find the
draperies and artwork carry the effects of the many rambunctious pirates sword
fights.
Visiting
pirates should also keep their eyes peeled on the fireplace with its five
mounted miniature ships in a bottle representing pirates from all around the
world banding together to defeat tyranny. However, the fight isnt quite over
as the bottles come alive to engage in yet another battle.
Further details regarding opening date and the bites and
drinks menu are forthcoming.
