Prepare to live out your childhood, or perhaps adulthood fantasy.
The largest elevated go-kart track in North America will open in Niagara Falls, Ontario just in time for summer 2018.
Located in Clifton Hill, the coaster-style and Mario Kart-inspired Niagara Speedway will open June 1, 2018.
The massive course will span 2,000 feet in length and be able to accommodate up to 36 go-karts at any given time. The karts will reach speeds of about 15 mph and each race will last five minutes, giving riders approximately three laps around the track.
"It's like go-karts on steroids," Harry Oakes, President of HOCO Limited, who owns and operates attractions, restaurants and shops at Clifton Hill, told MLive.com. "You drive on a road course for a portion of the race and then spiral up to about 40 feet, and then come down a long hill, kind of like the way a wooden coaster would be."
Travelers in Toronto, Buffalo, Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and other nearby destinations can reach the track in just a few hours' drive or less.
The ride's opening is pending Technical Standards and Safety Authority inspections, but we recommend you fire up the Nintendo and get your practice in now.
