SeaWorld Entertainment filed plans to build its first hotel near the SeaWorld Orlando theme park, which would offer 504 rooms across fifteen stories, complete with a rooftop bar, restaurants and meeting and event spaces.?
According to Spectrum News 13, a local station in Orange County, Florida, the company submitted the plan review application with the county under the name Starboard, with the location of the hotel located on a 29.92-acre lot behind the theme park.?
The hotel would have a six-level parking garage with around 747 spaces, along with an elevated walkway leading to SeaWorld Orlandos Nautilus Theater.?
As we mentioned last quarter, we are refining our design planning on our first hotels, and we expect?to begin opening in 2026, said SeaWorlds CEO March Swanson during an earnings call back in November.
Another new development for SeaWorld Orlando is Penguin Trek, opening in 2024. The family-friendly ride features a snowmobile-style experience through the Antarctic, ending at the penguin exhibit.
