It happens every day without fail: The sun rises and then sets.
Yet, it never seems to get old.
As certain as the rotation of the sun may be, so too is that people will continue to marvel over, photograph and share pictures of this daily phenomenon. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that photo-sharing app Instagram is awash in stunning images of the sun perched on the horizon.
However, as On the Go Tours notes, some places are more popular than others when it comes to the posting of these colorful displays. The company's research into the hashtags #sunrise and #sunset revealed the top destinations to snap a pic and the results span the globe.
New York leads the way in both categories. The Big Apple was the number-one place from which to share a photo of both the rising and setting sun.
Sunrises in Berlin, Germany, are also very photogenic. The city is number two on the list of world's best sunrises, with Chicago at number three.
Munich, Germany; Cork, Ireland; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Denpasar (Bali), Indonesia; Dublin, Ireland; Paris, France; and Singapore round up the top 10.
When it comes to the magic hour of sunset, the destinations are more exotic. New York is number one, but it is followed by tropical Denpasar (Bali), Indonesia, and stunning desert snaps from Umm as Suquaym in Dubai.
Teluknarat, Indonesia; Barcelona, Spain; Florence, Italy; Los Angeles, California; Naples, Italy; Singapore; and Campo Marzio, Italy, all made the top 10 as well.
Here at TravelPulse, we are also fans of sunrises and sunsets. Here are a few of our faves:
Sunrises in Auckland, New Zealand, are pretty stunning on a regular basis.
And you can wake up to these golden rays in California's Sequoia National Park.
In Phuket, Thailand, the beach is the place to be for a chance at seeing the green flash.
Pokhara, Nepal, turns to purple, pink and blue as the magic hour approaches.
Here's to another great day!
