The summer travel season is almost here, and families procrastinating on a plan should look no further than Universal Orlando Resort.
With three theme parks, a dining and entertainment complex and five hotels, Universal Orlando has something to offer every member of the group. Add in new attractions opening, the addition of eating establishments and the upcoming debuts of new hotels, and Universal could be the ideal summer destination.
The theme park recently celebrated the opening of its newest attraction, Fast & Furious - Supercharged. Guests will be transported into the world of the hit movie franchise, where they will experience props, iconic scenes, authentic details and supercharged vehicles from the films.
For the foodie traveler, Universal CityWalk recently opened its own version of the renowned Voodoo Doughnut shop. With over 50 types of delightfully weird and sinfully delicious doughnuts, the shop is a perfect fit for the colorful Orlando venue.
As for the rest of 2018, Universal Orlando has big plans. The new Aventura Hotel will begin welcoming guests in August, marking the sixth on-site hotel for the theme park. The facility will also add two more hotels to the destination next summer, dubbed the Surfside Inn and Suites and Dockside Inn and Suites.
In addition, a new nighttime lagoon show will debut featuring new animations, characters from favorite Universal attractions, a new storyline, new music, lighting and special effects. In 2019, Universal will also add a themed roller coaster to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade in Universal's Islands of Adventure.
