There's no shortage of amazing beaches across the U.S. But Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, takes the crown as America's favorite beach, according to the results of a survey conducted by recreational information hub Tipspoke.
In a simple but effective survey, 62 of 1,000 Americans named Myrtle Beach their favorite beach in the U.S.
Trailing Myrtle Beach is Miami Beach, Florida; Clearwater Beach, Florida; Destin Beach, Florida and Daytona Beach, Florida.
Clearwater Beach and Destin Beach tied for third, receiving 29 votes each.
Rounding out the top nine are Siesta Key, Florida; Cocoa Beach, Florida; Venice Beach, California and Huntington Beach, California.
Notable beaches that finished outside of the top 10 include La Jolla, California; Pismo Beach, California; Long Beach, California; Ocean City, New Jersey; Outer Banks, North Carolina and Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Interestingly, Hawaii's beaches were shut out of the top 10. Other states that were surprisingly absent include Maryland, Massachusetts and Texas, among others.
What makes Tipspoke's survey so unique is that it comprised a three-step process designed to eliminate all potential bias.
The survey was distributed broadly across the U.S. using Google Consumer Surveys, it offered an open question rather than a list of beaches and ran until more than 1,000 responses were charted.
