Milan Fashion Week is a major event that attracts celebrities, jet setters, designers and fashion-forward travelers from around the world.
Just in time for the annual trendsetting extravaganza held in February, here is a look at some of the city's most noteworthy hotels to keep on your radar.
The list includes recommendations from Forbes, which recently released its take on two of the newest hotels in the city, as well as properties identified by TravelPulse and other publications.
Fifty House
Described by Forbes as one of the rare hotels in Milan that's catching up with the city's fashion-forward status, Fifty House is a new luxury, boutique property that's all about showcasing design.
The 50-room hotel is filled with modern art and is housed in a historic building that was once an ancient boarding school. The property's creators have renovated the old school to be a place that's luxurious but also informal; cozy yet modern.
"The spaces that welcome the guests of Fifty House are those of a house, the house of a refined and cultured traveler, who scatters objects from his travels and exclusive pieces of art all over his spaces," states the hotel website.
Hotel Viu
Yet another one of Milan's new, chic properties, Hotel Viu is a retreat that was created in natural shades and refined materials.
Featuring stark, dark wood, mixed metals and gray furniture, the 124-room hotel is located in the Porta Volta section of Milan and offers the city's only rooftop pool.
Rooms meanwhile are ultra-modern, according to Forbes. They allow guests to control all lighting from a bedside switch and even the smallest rooms have both a rainfall shower and a tub. There are also smart TVs that connect to the internet.
The property is a 30-minute walk from the city center.
Armani Hotel
As TravelPulse previously reported, Luxury tour operator Zicasso recently launched exciting new Italy in Vogue tours, which are designed to showcase the Italian fashion capital from an insider's perspective. Among the accommodations included on the new Zicasso tours is the Armani Hotel.
A five-star property, the Armani Hotel is an extension of the Giorgio Armani brand and offers 95 guestrooms and suites. Most notably, there are lifestyle managers on staff at the property who are there to extend Giorgio Armani's hospitality to every guest, a task that includes ensuring all guests have a luxurious stay in Milan, complete with various personalized touches. Rooms at the hotel range in size from 475-square-foot deluxe rooms to suites that are 755-square feet.
Bulgari Hotel
If you know anything about the Bulgari brand, you know that over-the-top is in its DNA. Located on a private street in a renovated 18th century Milano palazzo, this exclusive accommodation lies in the cultural and commercial heart of Milan, making it incredibly convenient, in addition to being exceedingly luxurious. The five-star hotel is more than 43,000 square feet of private gardens. Inside the hotel, there's fine furnishings and dcor from the Bulgari brand.
The hotel is known for organizing private visits for its guests to villas and museums, as well as hydroplane trips around Lake Como and excursions to Italy's most exclusive destinations by private plane, limousine or yacht.
Hotel Principe di Savoia
The Hotel Principe Di Savoia has been described as one of Italy's most glamorous hotels.
Originally opened in the late 1920s and now part of the luxury Dorchester Collection, the Hotel Principe di Savoia is a grand property located on Milan's Piazza della Repubblica. A spectacular, landmark building with a semi-neoclassical fa?ade, this property exudes elegance and old-world luxury.
The property includes a gym, spa, swimming pool and a rooftop terrace with drool-worthy views of the city. For the high rollers, the Presidential Suite, on the hotel's top floor, has its own private swimming pool.
The Principe Bar, at this hotel, is one of Milan's most popular bars, especially during Milan Fashion Week.
Perfecto!
