The American
Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) announced today that William Chip
Rogers has resigned from his position as president and chief executive officer.
Rogers tendered his resignation last week and stated his
intent to pursue other professional interests.?
We have been able to build one of Americas most effective
associations over the last five years, Rogers said. As I move on to my next
chapter, I am truly thankful for the opportunity I had to lead this incredible
team and work alongside the industry's best leaders.
In response, the AHLA
Board of Directors has begun the process of forming a committee to identify and
evaluate potential replacement candidates and will retain an executive search
firm.?
On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Chip for his
service to AHLA, Board Chair Kevin Jacobs said. We now begin a search for a
new CEO to lead AHLA during this exciting time for both our industry and our
association.
Effective immediately, AHLA
Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Kevin Carey will
also serve as the organizations interim president and CEO. Carey will report
directly to the Board until a permanent leader is selected and onboarded.
The board and I look forward to working with the next CEO
to advance our mission well into the future, Jacobs continued.
More details about AHLAs search will be available in the
coming weeks.
