Walt Disney World Resort is preparing to unveil a reimagined Coronado Springs Resort featuring hundreds of new guestrooms and a variety of amenities.
The refreshed resort is expected to open this summer, according to a statement released by Walt Disney World.
The property's renovation is being led by Walt Disney Imagineering and will include fresh storytelling and functional enhancements designed to make a dramatic impact on the guest experience.
The biggest addition to the Florida property will be a 15-story tower offering a two-level entrance lobby, 545 guest rooms (including 50 suites), a themed and unique rooftop table-service restaurant, and two presidential suites.
A second new restaurant is being created on an island in the middle of the resort's 14-acre lake, said Walt Disney World. New walkways will stretch across the lake, allowing quick and convenient access to and from all areas of the resort.
All 1,800-plus existing rooms at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort feature updated fixtures, furnishings and lighting.
A fresh, sophisticated color palette will be added to tie the entire resort together when the tower opens. The new total room count at the property will be more than 2,400.
Walt Disney has also just announced that it will be increasing the prices of its annual passes. This is the second price increase in one year.
