The co-owner of signature Caribbean luxury resort Jade Mountain says her company is planning to launch Jade Sea, a sister property to the existing St. Lucia resort, but added "there is no time line attached to the project as of yet."
Jade Sea was described in a Forbes.com article as set for a 2020 launch as a sister property to Jade Mountain. The new resort would be located "on a ridge near the famed Jade Mountain" and Anse Chastanet, another luxury resort co-owned by wife-and husband team Karolin and Nick Troubetzkoy.
However in a Facebook message Tuesday, Karolin Troubetzkoy said, "There is no time line attached to the project as yet as we are still looking at the possible finance and ownership models. Jade Sea is fully conceptualized but no firm timeline exists."
Troubetzkoy is among the Caribbean's best-known hoteliers; she recently completed a term as president of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Assn. and was recognized for her determined efforts to help coordinate Caribbean hurricane recovery efforts this past year as well as initiatives to launch a regional marketing campaign.
Jade Mountain is among the best-known luxury properties among frequent Caribbean travelers, particularly noteworthy for stunning contemporary architecture, with individual bridges linked by stoned columns leading to suites equipped with infinity pools that overlook St. Lucia's Pitons World Heritage Site.
The large suites have open fourth walls, creating stage-like settings for guests to enjoy panoramic views of the Pitons and the Caribbean Sea. Resort cuisine also features James Beard Award winner Chef Allen Susser's "Jade Cuisine."
In the Forbes.com article Troubetzkoy said Jade Sas suites will also feature open fourth walls, offering dramatic Piton views. The "sanctuaries" will also feature indoor and outdoor gardens, waterfalls, infinity pools and stone-clad walls covered in a fern jungle.
Accommodations will also include a "glass-walled, air-conditioned inner sanctum" designed to isolate guests with a "high-tech communication and entertainment system" that will allow guests to enjoy entertainment without disturbing the outdoor surroundings.
