Marriott International is expanding its leisure offerings in Canada following a 36 percent year over year increase in hotel leisure revenue in its record-breaking 2023, with 90 hotels in its current pipeline.?
Lifestyle brands continue to remain incredibly popular, with more Autograph Collection and Tribute Portfolio soft brands opening across the nation. One such new opening is the HONEYROSE Hotel in Montreal, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel.?
Additionally, it welcomed the opening of the first Moxy Hotels property in Canada in January 2024 with the Moxy Halifax Downtown, followed by the opening of the Moxy Banff. Other new openings are expected in Montreal, Vancouver and Ottawa in the next three years.?
Marriott is also focusing on adding more upper midscale and extended stay brands. Fairfield by Marriott and TownePlace Suites by Marriott are two of the fast-growing brands in Canada, with a total of 31 hotels and 21 hotels open in the country, with 24 and 25 properties in Marriotts pipeline, respectively.?

Were expecting leisure demand in Canada to remain strong throughout 2024, particularly in destinations like Vancouver Island, the Okanagan Valley, Atlantic Canada and the Niagara Region.
