Calling it a triumph of modern design and technology, the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island has just announced a stunning two-level guest residence that includes below the ocean living.
The new offering, named The Muraka, (which means coral in the native language of Dhivehi,) includes an undersea bedroom, living space and bathroom. The rooms feature acrylic dome windows that provide 180-degree views of the ocean, showcasing the marine life in vivid color and detail.
And just in case you don't want to spend all of your time beneath the sea, the accommodation also includes one floor that's above the water level.
The dazzling Indian Ocean accommodation comes with exclusive thrill-seeking dining and cultural experiences as well (in case the accommodations themselves are not thrilling enough). There's also a dedicated team of 24-hour staff and butlers at your disposal.
"The villa lives and thrives among the natural landscape of the Indian Ocean," states the property website. "Discover a paradise unlike any other."
But be prepared to spend a pretty penny for such an unforgettable accommodation. Lonely Planet reported that prices for Muraka, which is slated to open in November, start at $50,000 per night.
Can't afford that price tag? Not to worry. There are plenty of other stunning suites and villas at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, a property that also includes an over-water spa, fitness and yoga offerings, a kids' club and infinity pools.
Each of the property's three distinct villa locations is sprinkled across the resort's impossibly picturesque Maldives atoll and feature indoor-outdoor living that's been architecturally designed to blend effortlessly with the environment.
In other words, you may not be sleeping amid the coral reef, but it will still be a vacation unlike any other.
