The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas is
generally acknowledged as one of the best hotels in the city. Now, it is expected to be even better.
The Venetian will undergo
a massive $1.5 billion renovation that is said to be the most extensive and
the most expensive in the 25-year history of the property.
"The Venetian Resorts innovative
spirit has had a massive impact on Las Vegas over the last 25 years and paved
the way for our visionary $1.5 billion reinvestment," Patrick Nichols,
Venetian Resort president and CEO, said in a statement.
The suites at the hotel will be re-done
and the redesign will be available in September for booking. The Convention
Center will also be redesigned at a cost of $188 million. The renovation is
also expected to include new restaurants.
The goal is to make the hotel more aesthetically pleasing although that might be hard, since it is already considered
beautiful with its replicas of the canals and gondolas of the Italian city of
Venice,
Apollo Global Management currently
operates The Venetian.
