In a "heartbreaking" turn of events, Malta's Azure Window, has collapsed into the sea.
The famous arch was a stunning landmark and a place where many came to cliff jump. It was also recently a backdrop for the series "Game of Thrones," reported the Telegraph.
"Reports commissioned over the years indicated that this landmark would be hard hit by unavoidable natural corrosion. That sad day arrived," said Malta's prime minister, Joseph Muscat.
Indeed, storms claimed the arch, known as "Tieqa tad-Dwejra" in Malta.

"There was a big raging sea beneath the window," Roger Chessel, who witnessed the collapse, told the Times of Malta. "Suddenly, the arch collapsed into the sea with a loud whoomph, throwing up huge spray. By the time the spray had faded, the stack had gone too."
