The U.S. State Department has been busy this August, recently reissuing updated travel advisories for a handful of popular destinations.
Officials issued six updates on Monday, including Level 1 advisories for the ABC Islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. Visitors to the islands are currently asked to exercise normal precautions.
Across the Atlantic, beloved destinations such as Greece, Croatia and the Netherlands received updated Level 1 travel advisories over the past week, which is more good news for Americans eyeing a European vacation this fall.
The State Department did issue a trio of Level 4 travel advisories for Libya, Bangladesh and Iran earlier this month. Travelers are encouraged to avoid those countries due to a variety of threats, including crime, terrorism, unexploded landmines, civil unrest, kidnapping and armed conflict.
Travelers can catch up on the most recent travel advisories from July.
