Amadeus River Cruises is building a new ship: In early July 2025, the Amadeus Amara will join the lines fleet in Europe.
The ship will be lightweight and will feature a shallow draft of just 4.3 feet, which will allow it to continue sailing even when water levels drop seasonally, according to the company. Its design also promotes reduced water resistance, which helps limit the amount of fuel it needs.?
A state-of-the-art steering system will automatically adjust the vessels course based on wind, currents, ship traffic and wave conditions.

The Amadeus Amara will also have a stabilization system, an efficient hull shape, a fuel-saving autopilot feature and solar panels on the sun deck.
The three-deck vessel will be able to accommodate up to 164 guests.

The Amara is not only a technical masterpiece but also a true gem for our guests, says Marcus Leskovar, executive vice president of Amadeus River Cruises. The elegant interior design and an indoor pool at the stern will be among the new comfort highlights. Twelve spacious suites feature walk-out balconies and cozy reading nooks, while the 70 standard cabins mostly offer drop-down panoramic windows and luxurious bathrooms.
