AmaWaterways is sending off 2023 in style by celebrating a year of record-setting sales and revenue, plus a variety of industry awards.
This year, the river cruise line hosted an all-time high number of passengers onboard its ships. The company also paid out record-setting commissions to its travel partners.?
That momentum is likely to continue in 2024 and beyond. Over the next two years, the cruise line plans to increase its capacity on Europes Douro, Danube and Rhine rivers by 20 percent. It will also introduce an additional ship, called the AmaLilia, on Egypts Nile River and launch two new ships, the AmaMagdalena and AmaMelodia, on Colombias Magdalena River.?
Its exciting to see this pattern of strong growth in demand for river cruising continuing, as our 2024 sales are almost 40 percent ahead when compared to 2023 results at the same time last year, says Rudi Schreiner, AmaWaterways co-founder and president. Based on the strong demand we are seeing for groups, charters and part-charters, 2025 is also shaping up to be an excellent year.
As 2023 comes to a close, the cruise line is also reflecting on the more than 30 awards and industry accolades it earned this year. AmaWaterways was crowned the American Society of Travel Advisors Partner Company of the Year, AAAs River Cruise Partner of the Year and the Association of Black Travel Professionals Summits Diversity Partner of the Year, to name a few.
Receiving the recognition that these awards bring us means the world to everyone at AmaWaterways, says Kristin Karst, the lines co-founder and executive vice president. "We are so appreciative of the love and support that they represent, and we never lose sight of the fact that our current success and positive outlook for 2024 and 2025 wouldn't be possible without the trust and support of our travel advisor partners."
