Riviera River Cruises will now pay commissions to travel advisors on bookings that are canceled within 15 days of departure.
Under the new policy, clients will still lose 100 percent of their booking cost if they cancel their European river cruise within 15 days of departure, but travel advisors will get their full commission.
With this change, travel advisors will no longer lose their commission when a client cancels in the days before their cruise departs, says Marilyn Conroy, executive vice president of sales and marketing for North America for Riviera River Cruises. From not selling directly to advisors clients to a partnership that assists with flight and hotel arrangements, and incentives like bonus commission and gift cards, its another way we at Riviera are dedicated to the agency community.
Riviera River Cruises does not accept bookings directly from travelers. If guests do reach out to the cruise line to inquire about booking, the company encourages them to reach out to their preferred travel advisor. If the guest does not have a travel advisor, Riviera River Cruises will recommend one.
The company also partners with Tourcrafters to help travel advisors make flight and hotel arrangements for North American clients.
The line is also offering a $100 gift card to travel advisors for every cabin they book on remaining 2024 and 2025 departures. (Their clients also get 100 in onboard credits as part of the promotion, which runs through September.
